4) How to build a consistent home yoga practice.

Hello everyone welcome to my blog channel today i thought i'd share with you a few quick tips that will assist you in maintaining a regular home yoga practice. So, If you're interested  carry on watching my blog post for those of you who don't know. I am a yoga teacher I didn't have a good consistent home practice and I didn't know how important it was until a I became a teacher so I understand it can be hard to establish a habit of practicing at home every day not really knowing exactly what to do where to begin so i hope some of these things can assist you.

So now I would recommend to do is to begin in small steps so even if you're beginning saying I want to practice yoga 10 minutes every single day don't think that you have to practice an hour or 2 hours every day to get direct benefits from yoga you will get benefits with your consistency so start small start 10 15 minutes every single day and just commit to that next thing that i always recommend to students.    Re-arrange your mat for yoga.

Then, begin to construct their home practice is to get on your mat each and every day and you want to do yoga ASA practice the postures but just get on your mat and get into the routine of getting on your mat on a daily basis so you can sit on your mat in silence you can meditate you can read you can write but you're on your mat each and every day get into that routine.

Pick a time convenient for you.  Some yoga feel that the optimal time to practice is in the morning, on an empty stomach and after a coffee. The needs of contemporary life are daunting – we work full-time, we have children to feed,  and we have friends to catch up with. And then there's sleep, in this age of technology. For the majority of us, a yoga practice each morning just isn't an option.

My recommendation is to select a time that suits your schedule. If you have an early departure from home for work, flow in the evening. If all you can manage is during your children are in school, the afternoon would be more ideal.

Begin with small, manageable sessions.

Don't set yourself up for failure – it will end with disappointment.

On paper, an hour’s practice sounds fantastic. Perhaps one day, it’ll become your norm. However, it’s not a great idea if you’re already juggling an overflowing to-do list or are new to yoga.

Consistency is at the heart of a home yoga practice, so focus on short, high-quality sessions. Commit to ten minutes a day and, once you’ve settled into this routine, increase the length by five minutes.

If you are new to the practice or in doubt about proper alignment, spend a few classes clearing your knowledge.

I personally believe that adding a regular class (or classes) to supplement your home yoga practice is the way to move forward, but I know that is not available for most. But only a few sessions with an experienced teacher will provide you with starting knowledge to take home and build on.

Request if the instructor could demonstrate a couple of self-adjustments to commonly used postures (downward dog, trikonasana, wide legged forward bends etc.) and try to recall their movement.
